We’ve realized that the custom fields where ‘ok’ but confused a lot of people and thankfully those days are gone.
With this new features customer support questions about image thumbnail autoresizing are practically non existent as our new code works with the regular WordPress writing-editing-publishing steps.
To work with images just specify your image sizing in the Media section of your WordPress admin and you don’t have to worry ever again, all your thumbnails will show up without the need to chmod 777 confusing “cache” folders or input long image links, just write your post and upload an image using the WordPress editor.

so I only get upgrades to v 1.9? That wasn’t said anywhere when I originaly bought. Said free lifetime upgrades…
Craig, I don’t remember saying Free Lifetimes upgrades, only upgrades between versions but if you can send me where you saw that I will honor the theme to you.
It was on the original plug & press site. It’s not there anymore tho…
In our original email communication you said you would install the updates to my theme manually so I would not lose the updates I made for free.
In the forum you just told me:
“To upgrade your site , you will need to get the new 2.0 version (25% off previous customers) and them perform all the updates.”
If it free updates or not? How do I get this fixed.
Craig, I think there was a miscommunication on free updates or not but the most important part is that the updates and all customization you’ve already made to your theme will be deleted if you install this new version, it is a totally different code , some functions were non-existent before and they will overwrite whatever you’ve done with the site.
You could compare both themes and add only the new updates that you want to add.
This update is NOT mandatory so you could just keep your customized theme in the way it is. If you want to update we will have to modify everything again in the way you’ve requested before.
So is celebpress version 1.7.8 totally compatible with wordpress version 2.7.1? that’s all I really care about. Not looking to keep changing things up. It’s a headache…

Craig, I could not tell you if it is totally compatible as it is an earlier version of the theme and you have performed numerous customizations, threaded comments (like these ones) will not work as your version was previous to WP 2.7, same with the new Feedburner transition to Google accounts, if you do the transition that code it will be different than the new updated code in 2.0.
New photos will automatically show as thumbnails in home page without you having to copy links in custom fields etc, they just work.
I will say that you go with the new version to ensure compatibility and new features and you can just add some of the new features but not necessary all of them.
Because of the misunderstanding with the updates and if you want to go with this new version I will offer a one time discount to you of 40% if you are interested.

I’m a bit scared to do it. I had a really difficult time getting the last theme up & you probably put in about 4 hours helping me do it, logging into my server & making changes for me.
Some of the plugins I installed wouldn’t work out of the box on this theme like other themes I am using.
Have you cleaned up those coding issues yet to make plugins like comment luv, Dagon Design Sitemap Generator, Google XML Sitemaps, Gravatar, Limit Posts, etc.
I just feel like I just recently bought this theme & now I already have to pay to upgrade.
Craig, you are posting the same questions here and in the forum, you as a registered user will have quicker support in the forums than here.
There is not limit posts plugin anymore, we have all proprietary functions , same for the thumbnails but as I’ve said before, you can just use your theme on WordPress 2.7.1 and it should work fine without the new WordPress features, whatever you want to add you just can add it later.
You bought the theme on August 2008, that is almost 8 months ago and CelebrityPress went trough a lot of changes to achieve what we offer now, same with WordPress with the new 2.7 version offering amazing features.
Even if I just send you the theme for free, your site is highly customized and we will have to do it again, I’ll say that you test your theme in WP 2.7 and if you want you can add the new features to make it totally compatible with WordPress 2.7.1 without overwriting any of your previous customizations.
