Smooth is a Real Estate WordPress theme, complete with Google Maps Integration, that offers a professional and extremely affordable solution for Realtors and Agents to showcase their properties with ease.
We have invested a lot of time into making everything work automatically – like magic! This includes Google Map integration, auto image-resizing, and logo uploading to name a few.
Smooth Real Estate is not a rebuild of our first Bel Air theme. In fact, Smooth was built using the 960 gridwork infrastructure, and has been crafted with Web Designers in mind. We minimized the coding and emphasized CSS stylings (versus images) to make changes easier to make. We also have detailed docs in the forums, which will walk you through setting up your site. We’ve even included examples and troubleshooting points, to help you along.
Another big bonus to Smooth is that we are including the PSD files for all the graphics. This is not one PSD file with all the design elements (I hate when they do that) – these are separate PSD files for each graphic we’ve used so customizing your site will be short work for a web designer.

With a starting price of $119.95 for a single license, the Smooth Real Estate theme is one of the most affordable and professional solutions for Realtors and agents on the market. We hope you enjoy it and look forward to your feedback.

Great looking theme indeed.
What I don’t understand however, is why such a theme is made only with the US market in mind.
I mean how easy would it be to add a few additional features to make it possible to list prices in any currency and display addresses that are not in the US?
Now if non-US ppl want to purchase the theme they will have to hardcore tweak it (basically rip it apart) to make it suitable for them/their market.
That’s hardly worth it for that price…
Hi Piet,
Thank you for your comments, and you bring up a good point. We certainly take your suggestions seriously and thank you for helping us improve our theme.
As for the theme not being worth it because of that – well, let’s just say we’ll have to agree to disagree. It is very easy to change currency values, but this could be made easier.
What currency did you want us to include? Perhaps I can offer to make the changes for you at no cost if you purchase the theme today. Sound like a deal?
Hi Scott,
Thanks for your kind reply and offer.
OK the theme not being worth the money was perhaps a bit too harsh, sorry for that.
Thing is that for the European/British market (and for that matter the global market too), I would suggest much much more flexibility for the input of housing data.
Without going into too much details, I will give you a couple of examples:
- currency
- surface: square feet is the US way of measuring surface, in mainland Europe (and other parts of the world) we use square meters.
- state/zipcode: should be made so it fits globally
- nearby schools: yeah, it’s great to know what schools are nearby, but some websites would like to use it for different purposes, where schools should be replaced by for example landmarks/public transport/proximity to a stadium/ etc.
As I said I do not want to make it a whole list of things.
Of course I do understand that for a premium theme developer it’s pretty difficult to accommodate each individual’s desires, and that is why in my opinion it could serve a larger client-base if there would be more flexibility built in. On the other hand, like you say, it will be pretty easy to make changes to suit the individual’s needs, the only problem then comes when there is a theme-update…
I am serious contemplating whether to purchase the theme, I would be interested in the multiple license, but I will not make my decision today though.
Thanks,
Piet
Hi Scott
I am also having the same issue as Piet. I would like to use your smooth theme for a South African real estate company. We use “R” as our currency.
How difficult is it to change this value in the code?
Neil, you can change that easily, I could direct you to the files where the $ symbol is coded and you can change for your currency symbol, it will take no longer than 10 minutes.
I agree with Piet and you and I’ll be sure new versions of the theme will have this editable from the admin.
Thanks,
and I can obviously change the metrics as well? i.e. feet to meters
Yes Neil, that is correct, you will be able to change all those details to accommodate the theme to your country currency, metrics, etc.
being able to change all these settings is not the biggest problem. The real problem comes when there becomes a new update of the theme available. With WP 2.8 around the corner (and the very likely probability that that version will be followed by many other updates/upgrades) you can safely assume that at one point sooner or later the theme will get an upgrade too.
If you have only one domain, then it is not a major problem, you just have a go at it again, but when you have multiple sites it becomes problematic.
Therefore I think that built-in flexibility should be a must for premium themes to be sold on the global market.
Hopefully sometime soon this great theme gets those features…
@Piet Thank you for your feedback and great observations, the easiest way to do this and it will take probably 2 minutes to do it is to delete the hardcoded symbols ($, square foot, etc) and then you can add them in the add listing page yourself.
Right now the theme is asking you not to input the “$” sign as this is already provided, in the new way I’m suggesting you just input your price with the dollar sign (or your own currency), same for the other features.
The theme will become more “Universal” and easy adaptable to other markets.
@Carlos, ok I didn’t realize that it is possible to delete the hardcoded symbols. How many files that would need to be adapted are there?
That way it would indeed be a lot easier, also when there becomes an upgrade available…
You are totally right, this will make it easier for different markets to input their own currency and other symbols and at the time of updating the theme you don;t have to worry on overwriting any patches.
WordPress is getting hotter and hotter, and real estate managenemt team are beginning to trust WordPress.
Hi, how would IDX be incorporated into the site so I don’t have to enter each listing and update each price change by “hand?” IDX automatically feeds the info in real time, but not sure if this theme would work with that technology? Any ideas on that issue?
I’ve worked in some Smooth customizations with different IDX providers like http://idxnw.com/ and the offer an iframe service with the Realtor variable to return listings by Agent or by Company. The look and feel can be customized to match the design of the site too. Let me know if you have more questions about this and how you would like to integrate IDX with WordPress and our Real Estate theme.
